Can family members visit?
Yes, family members and loved ones can visit residents. We encourage family involvement to maintain emotional well-being and ensure quality care. Our official visiting hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. We understand schedules can be tricky, though, so we can usually accommodate out-of-hours visits if you let us know in advance.
Can family members take their loved ones out?
Absolutely! As long as the residents’ case plan states this is safe for the resident. We only ask that we know in advance to plan meals and medications accordingly.
What should I expect in terms of staffing?
We have caregivers available 24/7. The caregiver-to-resident ratio is often smaller than that of larger institutions, providing more personalized care. Staff may include caregivers, social workers, and possibly a house manager. Staff are usually trained in first aid, CPR, medication management, recipient rights, and an array of other essential caregiving skills.
Can Taylor Home Care accommodate individuals with specific medical needs?
Absolutely! We train our staff appropriately to support individuals with specific needs. We are also licensed as a specialized high-behavior group home. With four locations, there is a perfect location for your loved one.
What happens if my loved one’s condition changes or worsens?
If a resident's condition deteriorates and they require more medical or nursing care than the facility can provide, we can coordinate to assist with transitioning them to a more appropriate setting, such as a nursing home or hospice care, if necessary.
What are the rights of residents in an Adult Foster Care Home?
Residents have the right to be treated with respect and dignity, to have their privacy respected, and to receive quality care. They are also entitled to participate in decisions about their care and treatment. These rights are often protected by state and federal regulations.
What happens if there is a problem with the care or facility?
If you have concerns about the care your loved one is receiving, it's important to speak directly with the staff or management of the facility. If issues persist, you can contact the state’s licensing agency or an ombudsman to investigate further.
